Dice-wielding wizards battle corrupt monsters in SpellRogue this February

Save the world from corruption with dice and magic in the very first published title from the award-winning company behind Deep Rock Galactic

COPENHAGEN, DENMARK January 30th 2024 - Ghost Ship Publishing, the company behind hit dwarf mining game Deep Rock Galactic, has today announced the release date for SpellRogue, a roguelike deckbuilder that sets players on a path to save a corrupted world as a dice-slinging wizard. The debut game from Danish development studio Guidelight Games, SpellRogue is set to arrive in early access on Steam on February 12th.

Watch the trailer here.

SpellRogue is a turn-based roguelike fantasy game where players cast powerful spells using Mana Dice as they seek to drive out the Voidwalkers threatening to corrupt the world. Playing as one of three elemental Wizards - Water, Fire and Earth - players will make their way through three Acts, battling relentless enemies and building a powerful deck of spells to defeat them.

Rather than a traditional mana system, SpellRogue’s spells are charged by dice rolls. At the start of each round of combat, several six-sided dice will be rolled, and players will need to use the results wisely to fuel their magic. Players are challenged throughout their run to create a build that capitalises on the random chance of their dice, or find ways to swing luck in their favour.

Key Features:

  • Bend Fate to Your Will - Reroll, duplicate, split, flip and enchant Mana Dice with special effects to become the master of your own luck. Use your rolls to cast powerful spells, but remember that it’s not always about rolling the highest numbers.

  • Craft your Perfect Deck with Unique Elemental Characters - Disassemble Mana Dice to feed devastating fire spells with Azar the Cinder Conjurer, use the power of nature to bless yourself or hamper enemies with Hazel the Earthen Mage, or control the ebb and flow of battle as Lapis the Azure Seer.

  • Experiment with Hundreds of Spells and Artifacts - Cast over 220 spells, each with two separate upgrades to perfect your deck, and loot more than 100 powerful artifacts that can change the fate of your run.

  • Put an End to the Corrupt Voidwalkers - Battle your way through more than 50 different enemies across three Acts, with each culminating in a deadly boss fight that will test your skills - will you leave it all to chance?

“We’re so excited to be releasing SpellRogue into early access this February. The game has been four years in the making, and it’s wonderful to have Ghost Ship Publishing’s support for this launch and beyond,” said Tim Skafte, Co-Founder and Artist at Guidelight Games. “We’re incredibly grateful to our community of playtesters who’ve already given us so much valuable feedback during development, and we can’t wait to invite even more players to join us on our early access journey.”

SpellRogue will launch into early access on Steam on February 12th 2024, priced at €15.99 / $15.99 / £15.99, and is available to wishlist right now. For more information, join the SpellRogue Discord, or visit the SpellRogue website.
