Co-op Cowboy Crafting RPG ‘Don’t Die in the West’ releases into Early Access

Buckle up, buckaroo - it’s yeehaw time. Build your own ranch, start a gang and avenge the death of your uncle in Funday Games’ wild west co-op game, now out on Steam.

November 9th, 2023 - Funday Games, the Danish developer behind Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor, are proud to announce that their self-published indie cowboy co-op game Don’t Die in the West releases into Steam Early Access today!

Game Overview
Set in the dusty, western town of Tumbleville, Don’t Die in the West is a 1-4 player co-op cowboy sim game in which players take on the role of a humble cowpoke who’s inherited their recently departed uncle’s ranch, thrust into the dangerous prairies with nothing but a hat and a dream. Key features of Don’t Die in the West include:

• Build Your Ranch - Construct buildings, reclaim the farmland and customise your very own settlement. Craft tools and weapons to get better materials, and venture out into the unknown to find resources to expand your legend.

• Start Your Own Gang - Assemble your misfit friends and start building a name for yourselves! Play with up to three more friends and set out to tame the wild west with a little help from your trusty iron.

• Craft & Upgrade - Scour the prairies and barren lands of the wild west in search of materials to upgrade your weapons and reinforce your base of operations. Stay alive under the scorching heat of the sun as you cook food and attempt to battle both nature and man.
  
  
• Create Your Own Legacy - Your choices and actions have consequences so it’s up to you how you want to be remembered. As the feared outlaw or heralded hero? A travelling journalist has settled down in Tumbleville to document history as it unfolds. If you make an impression, your legend will be told for years to come.

Early Access
Starting today, Don’t Die in the West is available to play via Steam Early Access, inviting players to visit the town of Tumbleville and forge their legacy. Funday Games have also released an Early Access roadmap that offers an overview of new biomes, NPCs, mechanics and much more that the team plans to continue developing and adding to the game.

From a new spooky area called Ghost Town to the upcoming Westwood Forest biome and new NPCs, enemies and farming, there’s much in store for Don’t Die in the West, and you bet your finest iron Funday Games ain’t all hat no cattle.

The Funday Games team looks forward to developing Don’t Die in the West alongside players as they iterate on existing systems, expand the game’s open world and introduce new features as they progress through Early Access.
