London, 7th April 2025 - The 2025 PUBG MOBILE Global Open (PMGO) Grand Finals is fast approaching, with just a couple more rounds left to decide the fate of the amateur teams who are hungry to make it. The 2025 PMGO is a tournament that uplifts grassroots talent by giving smaller teams the opportunity to compete for a chunk of the sizable $500,000 prize pool, as well as showcase their talent against professional teams. As the tournament makes its way to the Zo’r TV venue in Uzbekistan, viewers can expect fierce showdowns filled with determination and grit.

Only 12 of the best teams from the Open Qualifiers Final now head for the 2025 PMGO Prelims. With the dust settled, that means the top four teams from Asia, the top three from Europe, the top three from MEA, the top team from South America, and the top team from North America will take those coveted qualifying spots.

On April 9th, the 2025 PMGO Uzbekistan Open Qualifiers Finals will be the first of the three rounds to take place live in Uzbekistan. Teams placed 2nd-5th from that contest will join the 12 teams already qualified for the Prelims, taking place between April 10th-11th. Meanwhile, the winner of the 2025 PMGO Uzbekistan Open Qualifiers Finals will instantly be put forward to the Grand Finals on April 12th-13th, where they will compete against the other seven amateur teams from the Prelims and eight professional teams.

This stage of the tournament will mark Tashkent’s first time hosting an international PUBG MOBILE esports event, a notable milestone in the esports industry’s growth across Central Asia. PUBG MOBILE will work with local artists, blending Tashkent’s rich culture with the aesthetics of esports. Attending fans will get to witness live performances and the talent of Tashkent’s local team VatanGame Esports, who will no doubt be looking to put on a great performance for their home fans.

The 2025 PMGO Open Qualifiers Final saw amazing performances that show the talent previously hidden among these amateur esports teams and these 12 amateur teams going to Uzbekistan have truly proven themselves as worthy of a spot in the Prelims stage. Fierce gameplay and determination had teams cutting it close. The Middle East’s R8 Esports and K21 Esports both got 99 points, with just one Chicken Dinner to set them apart on the scoreboard — with scores this close, the upcoming Prelims in Uzbekistan are sure to be just as nailbiting.

Later, at the Grand Finals, the following eight professional teams will be joining the qualifying amateurs in Uzbekistan for a fierce showdown against the eight Prelim qualifiers:
