A Plymouth mum and her daughter who raised the alarm when she spotted her having a stroke have shared their story in an emotional video on Facebook.
Vaishali Phippen, 55, daughter Renée, 25, want to raise awareness of the signs to look out for and the support available for stroke survivors from the Stroke Association.

The Stroke Association is encouraging people to make a pledge which counts, and take part in a 5k,10k or 15k Resolution Run on 27 February 2016 at Escot Saint Mary’s Park.
The event is one of 28 fundraising Resolution Runs taking place across the UK this spring. These runs provide the perfect motivation to get in shape after Christmas, while helping to conquer stroke.

A play set in the West Country, Unearthed, will be helping to raise awareness of the impact of stroke during Action on Stroke month. The Production from Folio Theatre will be touring across the South West throughout the month of May.
Local Stroke Survivor Richard Spanswick from Plymouth is asking everyone to join him and other stroke survivors to Step Out for Stroke on the 6th June 2015. The event is a fundraising walk perfect for the whole family that will be taking place at Plymouth Hoe.
The team from the Stroke Association in Plymouth joined the backstage and front of house staff at the Theatre Royal Plymouth to raise awareness of stroke and give a free blood pressure check to all staff. The visit was part of the charity’s Know Your Blood Pressure campaign.
Beverly Salt, from Bristol, will be embarking on the challenge of her lifetime, on the 16th March 2015. Beverly will be walking the Inca Trail over four days to raise money for the Stroke Association and Your Voice, a local support group, run by her sister Georgie & fellow stroke survivor Paul Barnes for Stroke Survivors in Devon.
The Stroke Association today launches a new initiative to help more people affected by stroke receive emergency medical treatment. The charity is calling for people across the South West to support the FAST Forward campaign by learning the signs of a stroke and sharing the message to help save more lives.

coming to terms with the effects of stroke.
