Local stroke group invites people to Give a Hand and Bake for the Stroke Association
The Hillingdon Stroke Association Voluntary Group is holding an event at Bailey Hall, Christ Church on Monday 22 October to support the Stroke Association’s latest fundraising initiative: Give a Hand and Bake.
Give a Hand and Bake calls on people across London to host their own bake sale, all with the aim of raising some serious dough. The money raised will help fund world-leading research that will help to save lives and change the story for stroke survivors. This year, thousands of people across the UK will be donning their aprons for Give a Hand and Bake Week, which runs from 22 to 28 October 2018.
Among them will be members from the Hillingdon Stroke Association Voluntary Group, who are rolling up their sleeves, grabbing a mixing bowl and baking to raise vital funds for stroke survivors. The group will be opening their doors to local residents to come and enjoy a slice of cake, whilst joining in on a lucky dip organised by the group.
Jacqui Guyett, Support Coordinator at the Stroke Association, said: “Give a Hand and Bake Week is a fun, and delicious, way to support our charity’s work. We fund research into stroke treatment and care and support stroke survivors with their recovery. This includes our latest online tool, My Stroke Guide, which provides round-the-clock advice, information and support for stroke survivors, their family and carers.
“We’d love people in Hillingdon to bake up a storm with friends, family or colleagues for Give a Hand and Bake. Whether you’re a baking beginner or a seasoned chef, you prefer to bake brownies for the office or hosting afternoon tea for friends and family, there are lots of ways your baking can rise to the challenge.”
The Hillingdon Stroke Association Voluntary Group’s bake sale will be held on Monday 22 October from 11am to 12:30pm at Bailey Hall, Christ Church.
