Daredevils with a head for heights sought for first Stroke Association abseil

The Stroke Association is calling out for adrenaline junkies and fun-seeking fundraisers to abseil down one of the highest buildings in Leeds, on Saturday 28 March.

Abseilers will be able to take in views across the city before abseiling 269ft from the roof of the CLV Building (formally Opal 3), the third tallest building in Leeds.

Jo Beverley, Regional Fundraiser at the Stroke Association said: “This is the first abseil we’ve ever held in Leeds, so we’re calling on adrenaline junkies to be the first to conquer the CLV Building for us, all while raising vital funds for the Stroke Association. No experience is necessary, and everyone taking part will receive abseil training before enjoying an incredible view of the city.”

In Yorkshire and Humberside, there are more than 10,600 strokes per year and over 112,300 people living with the effects of stroke. Funds raised through the charity abseil will help the Stroke Association continue to offer vital support to stroke survivors and their families.

The standard registration fee for is £20 with a sponsorship target of £100. The minimum age for participants is 18 years of age.
