Nordic Choice Hotels offer loyalty members hotel services at home

Development within the hotel industry is moving faster than ever and the boundaries between the hotel experience and everyday life are becoming blurred. By launching hotel services at home Nordic Choice Hotels are taking a new approach to adding a little more sparkle to everyday life.

One frequent comment among feedback from hotel guests is that they wish they could take that hotel feeling home with them when they leave. And not have to check out. In response to this, trialling of a new service has been under way for some time now: members of Nordic Choice Club and residents of Kungsholmen in Stockholm are being offered the chance to subscribe to hotel services such as cleaning, delightfully soft towels, fluffy quilts and pillows and luxury bathroom products as well as a relaxing hotel breakfast at a hotel of their choice. All with the Clarion Hotel Amaranten as the hub for service and quality.

“We are constantly asking ourselves how we can better respond to our guests’ needs and how our hotels can be part of our guests’ everyday lives to a greater extent and make life easier for them. One of the things guests tell us time after time is that the worst thing about staying at a hotel is that eventually they have to check out. We have taken note of this and been inspired to offer services that help to close the gap between a hotel experience and being at home,” says Christian Lundén, Director of Future Business at Nordic Choice Hotels.

The services currently being tested on Kungsholmen in Stockholm have been extremely popular.
“We have been cautious about communicating this, since it’s only a test period, but it is clear that word is spreading. The initial places on offer were quickly filled and there is a long waiting list. This has been a success from day one and I hope that we will shortly be able to launch it on a larger scale,” says Ulf Cato, General Manager of Clarion Hotel Amaranten.

It’s clear that the ‘test pilots’ for the service are liking what they are testing.
“This is a service that we have long been looking for and we love it! Enjoying this wonderful hotel feeling at home too is fantastic and we see so many future possibilities for the service,” says test pilot Andrea Dorg.

The current test project extends into February. Once the period is over, the outcome will be evaluated. If everything turns out well, we will be launching this in several areas of the Nordic region with the hope that it will become a natural element of the hotels’ offering. There is huge potential for gradually adding more services such as food deliveries, laundry and ironing services, clothing deliveries and much more. The aim of the project is partly to give members of Nordic Choice Club additional benefits from their membership and make their everyday life easier, but there is also an obvious ambition for the project to contribute to reducing climate footprints.
“This is naturally really great for our guests, who can enjoy more luxurious and comfortable everyday living at a price that everyone can afford, but we also feel that this will help people to live a more sustainable life. Through coordinated transport, use of mindful suppliers of food and products and also offering food from the hotels’ restaurants, we are not only reducing emissions but also food waste. In short, guests can go to sleep with a clear conscience,” says Christian Lundén.

The services offered through the project are ordered via a specially-developed app and are carried out in collaboration with start-up company L2GO.
