Kämp Collection Hotels reopens its doors and continues the journey as Nordic Hotels & Resorts Finland

In August 2019, Nordic Choice Hotels acquired the Finnish hotel group Kämp Collection Hotels. Over the past 10 months, there has been intense work on building the new Kämp, which rests on its uniqueness but with the Nordic Choice Hotel's muscles in the back. Central to that work has been Kämp Collection Hotel CEO Laura Tarkka. When Kämp is now fully part of Nordic Choice Hotels, Tarkka chooses to move on as previously agreed.

– Many describe the Kämp Collection Hotels and especially Kämp, with examples from the history. To me, Kämp will never be history. It is the best Finland has had and will also continue as this in the future. It is my time to thank you all for the past six years. The super team at Kämp took me on as a rookie and taught me everything and more about hospitality. I couldn’t be more proud of our achievements and especially how my colleagues at KCH took themselves, their teams and our performance to the next level, says Laura Tarkka.

Kämp Collection Hotels is part of Nordic Choice Hotel's collection of independent hotels Nordic Hotels & Resorts.

It has been a privilege to have Laura as part of this journey and I wish her all the best in the future. It is exciting for those who are now taking on the baton and who will be carrying on the commitment which Laura has so proudly executed over the years. Laura has been a great asset in this transition process, says Nordic Hotels & Resorts Chief Operating Officer Trond Bastiansen.

Laura Tarkka makes her final working day as CEO of Kämp Collection Hotels in June and the process of finding her replacement has started. Until that person is in place, Sam Holmberg will be in charge of the Kämp hotels. Sam currently works as Vice President of Operations in Nordic Hotels & Resorts and started his career in the hospitality industry in Helsinki where he was born and raised. He has also held leadership roles internationally over the years.
