Press release -

Join the pack on walkies event!

Dog owners are invited to bring their four-legged friends on a charity walk in Rochdale next weekend, in order to help raise money for guide dogs.

At 10.30 am, on Sunday 10 November, Hollingworth Lake Country Park in Littleborough will be hosting a Go Walkies for Guide Dogs fundraising event.

There will be two routes to choose from:

  • a 15 to 20 minute walk on good paths for puppies and smaller dogs
  • a 50 minute walk on good paths for bigger dogs

All participants will receive a free goody bag, certificate and Go Walkies dog tag as a huge thank you for their support. Plus, one lucky walker will win a six months’ supply of Eukanuba dog food.

Entrants can register to take part on 0770 202 1420 or online, where sponsorship forms can also be downloaded, at www.guidedogs.org.uk/go-walkies/ . Participants can bring their sponsorship money on the day or pay direct to guide dogs via the website.

Whilst four-legged friends will probably enjoy nothing better than splashing in muddy puddles, everyone else should be prepared with appropriate clothing and footwear. All dogs need to be on a lead and that free dog poo bags are available at the visitor centre.
