People Like Us, the award-winning not-for-profit, has today announced it has opened applications for its new working board. Positions on the board are open to people from all backgrounds and the deadline is 16 March 2023.

The group, led by brothers Sheeraz Gulsher and Darain Faraz, has continued to grow at pace since its launch in 2020. It hosts quarterly events to shine the spotlight on voices from racially diverse backgrounds in journalism, PR and marketing. Previous event partners include brands such as LinkedIn, Samsung, Sony Music and the England & Wales Cricket Board. The group also supports individuals in finding new roles, advises organisations on their D&I strategies and has also been lobbying for mandatory ethnicity pay gap reporting.

People Like Us is stepping its efforts up by forming a new Working Board to help galvanise their efforts, with applications for those board roles opening up today. The team are seeking professionals with five or more years experience to take a role supporting the growth of the group.

The voluntary roles will last for 12 months and People Like Us ask those applying to ensure they are able to commit to requirements listed below. All applications are through the company website and those interested are asked to submit a short application on reasoning and role interest.

That's why we are inviting applications from those of all backgrounds to join us and help support a mission that is bigger than us all.”
