PKF Smith Cooper welcomes a new roster of Graduates into their ranks

Throughout 2021, PKF Smith Cooper have been attracting a wealth of talent into their accounting, audit, and tax teams, beginning the training of a new team of graduates poised for future success.

Located across various offices – Nottingham, Derby, Birmingham, and Burbage – these graduates have a diverse range of skills, qualifications, and attributes to bring to the company.

With the most recent graduate induction occurring in parallel with the formulation of company values – Engage, Empower, Excel – there has been an emphasis upon the ways in which both they and the company  embody these values.

John Farnsworth, Corporate Finance Partner, highlighted this point: “This year’s cohort aligns with PKF Smith Cooper’s ‘Excel’ value, being one of the strongest we’ve ever recruited. We look forward to working with all of them in developing their careers.”

Through this recruitment and training process, graduates are introduced into the world of business and finance, engaging with clients and colleagues on a regular basis to learn the ropes and demonstrate the professional, transparent, and trustworthy environment created within the company.

All graduates are empowered to perform at the height of their potential through regular praise and constructive feedback, as well as being encouraged to develop productive relationships with clients and colleagues for personal development.

Aman Matharu, one of the graduate Financial Planning Analysts, agreed with this assertion: “Smith Cooper IFS have created a very friendly and encouraging atmosphere that will help me to achieve my potential.”

Based in the Midlands, the leading firm of accountants and business advisors utilise their substantial knowledge and network of clients to aid the enhancement of graduate recruits’ skills and understanding, considering their application in addition to their accumulation. As a result, the ACCA and ACA exam results reported by graduate trainees are consistently high – with some results even grabbing national headlines.

Upon joining the firm’s Birmingham team, Graduate Audit Assistant Helen Bonsmann echoed the sentiments of many of the new graduates with her comments: “I’m really excited about starting my new role at PKF Smith Cooper, which will give me the opportunity to learn new skills, learn about clients' needs, and meet new people.”

Without a doubt, such a strong group is likely to build upon and enhance the level of success spearheaded by past graduates - watch this space.
