Press release -
Campersharing platform PaulCamper reaches 10,000 vehicles and almost 100 percent growth
Berlin, 14 July 2021 - PaulCamper, Europe's largest and fastest growing platform for individual campervans and motorhomes, has reached 10,000 vehicles listed and recorded a successful first half of 2021 with almost 100 percent growth.
What began with Campingbus Paul in 2013 as an idea, has developed into a successful marketplace in recent years, and is now active in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands and, since May 2021, in the UK. PaulCamper connects owners of motorhomes and campervans with people that are interested in traveling with a camper. Renters are located all over the world and more than one million overnight stays have now been conveyed through PaulCamper.
"The camping trend can almost no longer be described as a trend. I see rather a general rethinking when it comes to the topic of travelling. People are looking to travel again, and to more regional areas and are looking to be close to nature. Options like PaulCamper take this into account, and the steadily increasing demand confirms that our concept is paying off. In the US, 370 million Euros were invested in camping startups and we assume strong activities in the European market in the coming months and years, too", Dirk Fehse, founder and CEO of PaulCamper, states.
One marketplace, nearly 10.000 outlets
The majority of the 10.000 vehicles now listed with PaulCamper are based in the home market Germany but will listings continually increasing in all markets and especially the UK market since launch in May 2021.
Number wise currently most camping vehicles are available in Berlin with 503 vehicles listed, in Hamburg there are 355 and in Munich 211. In Cologne PaulCamper counts 147 vehicles, which landlords can rent to camping fans. In Saxony, too, there are many mobile homes, with 110 most of them in Dresden and 103 in Leipzig. In North Rhine-Westphalia's capital Düsseldorf, there are currently 66 vehicles available for rent, closely followed by Stuttgart with 56 and Hanover with 48. Travel enthusiasts in southern Germany can also choose from a large number on site - for example, in Freiburg im Breisgau, where 48 campers are available.

About PaulCamper
PaulCamper is the fastest growing platform and community for individual campervan and motorhome rental in Europe. With a huge passion for camping and attention to detail, Managing director Dirk Fehse founded the company in 2013. PaulCamper already has more than 10,000 vehicles from individual lenders on board and has arranged more than one million overnight stays for renters from all over the world.
They all have one thing in common: Just like this start-up, they love adventure, freedom and the individuality that goes with it. Since 2017 PaulCamper has also been active in Austria and the Netherlands and launched UK in May 2021.
PaulCamper was born out of CEO Dirk Fehse’s personal experience of exploring Australia in a rented camper. Upon his return to Germany, he purchased his own campervan - a VWT4 christened "Paul". To finance running costs and insurance, Dirk rented out “Paul” when he wasn't out exploring with him and "PaulCamper" was born.
