Officer to appear in court charged with sexual assault

A serving Metropolitan Police officer will appear in court charged with sexual assault.

PC Saif Iqbal – attached to the North West Command Unit – will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 26 June charged with seven counts of sexual assault.

The charges relate to two women and took place between October 2020 and November 2021 while the officer was both on and off duty. Both women are police officers.

PC Iqbal is currently suspended from duty.
