Motorola Atrix is a Sight to Behold

After a few years of market troubles with the advent of the touchscreen revolution Motorola hit it big with their first Android handset known as the Droid, or Milestone in the UK. While Motorola has continued with their highly popular Milestone series they have now extended their expert craftsmanship to a new range of Android phones with the most high profile of these being the new Motorola Atrix.

The Atrix has a lot to cause heads to turn, including being the first dual core Motorola smartphone. In the United States the Atrix was the first dual core phone to see release but it has been beaten to it in the UK and various other markets by the LG Optimus 2X. In many ways the Atrix is a far superior phone to the 2X and looks likely to be one of the biggest selling phones of 2011.

The dual core processor is combined with 1GB RAM to make the Atrix one of the fastest smartphones currently in existence. This combined with the fact that is also possesses one of the highest quality screens of any phone only serves to make this phone a sight to behold. The 4" capacitive screen comes with an exceptionally sharp 540 x 960 qHD resolution and full multitouch support. It also includes Gorilla Glass for extra resistance to scratches and even comes with a biometric fingerprint scanner to ensure that nobody but yourself is able to make use of the device.

The Atrix runs on Android Froyo and comes with the Motoblur interface that features some fantastic integration for social networks like Facebook. It also includes many other great messaging options such as threaded SMS, email and instant messaging and the Atrix comes with great connectivity through 3G and Wi-Fi to ensure an online presence whenever it is needed.

The Atrix also comes with great entertainment features with support for high quality 1080p video playback and streaming video content from services like YouTube. On top of this the 5 megapixel camera comes with a choice of 720p or 1080p video recording which you can then enjoy for your own amusement, either through the Atrix itself or through your home TV via HDMI or DLNA Wi-Fi.

While the Atrix is most certainly a phenomenal smartphone in and of itself it also comes with many fantastic docking ports that turn the device into so much more. For example, the Atrix can power a laptop with a full multitasking operating system when it is slotted into the back of an otherwise defunct laptop dock. Alternatively, you can place it into the media dock and easily browse through the music, video or photo contents of the phone to enjoy on your home TV.

The Atrix is currently unique in the world of smartphones for attempting to bridge the gap with other devices and this will no doubt win it a lot of appeal from onlookers. But even if these optional extras are not chosen the Atrix remains one of the most desirable smartphones that is to see release within the UK within the coming months.
