Press release -

"Life is beautiful. Always" - An inspiring summer evening of Art and Music with the artist Marcel Schreur in Kingston upon Thames.

Marcel Schreur, the original Dutch born artist works and lives in Kingston upon Thames. Having survived cancer twice, coming back from vascular dementia and still heavily affected by the diseases, he is bleeding his experiences and love for life onto the canvas.

This summer he will bring more than 40 of his works to "The place where England began". He feels at home in conceptual, realism, abstract, landscape and portraiture, with works ranging from 8X8 inch to 90X48 inch. Some of the larger works have never been shown in public.

"Life is beautiful. Always". An evening of Art and music with the artist on the 14th July is the highlight of the 14 day exhibition. The beautifully restored church in Kingston upon Thames is the perfect platform for this colourful and inspirational event.

As an award winning artist, Marcel Schreur has exhibited globally. In the last year he saw his work exhibited in the Kyoto Museum of Modern Art, Japan; his work was brought before the U.N. Global Forum for Migration and Development in Istanbul; he took part in a global art exhibition in the Chianciano Museum of Modern Art, Italy; he exhibited at The London Art Biennale at the Chelsea Old Town Hall and saw his work presented to Pope Francis at the Vatican.

The video testimonial "Life is beautiful. Always" has been short listed by the National Open Art Competition. He is now working together with the Prince’s Trust for their 40th anniversary Art event in Fitzrovia, London.

Unassuming and quietly working away in public at his studio in Kingston Upon Thames he has build up a stunning collection of work. His life revolves around sharing his gift and his story. He says “The gift is not mine, in sharing this gift I find true fulfilment and ultimate thanksgiving”. Inspiring young and old alike, trying to give hope, beauty and colour and visualising his motto "Life is beautiful. Always".

The viewer will be shown an intriguing diversity of work. Touching upon the beauty of nature and its cycles, social topics, relationships and their vulnerability and giving the audience an insight into the open mind of the artist.
