Our Leeds branch team became gardeners for the day.

On Wednesday our employees at Lindab Leeds took part in planting around 1000 woodland bulbs within the green space on our premises.

Sam, Facilities Manager at JLL UK invited us to take part alongside Mitie Landscapes. Sam has worked with JLL UK for around 4 years, towards improving biodiversity and sustainability throughout all their sites around the UK. "It is important that we look at planting and maintaining the spaces we are so lucky to have with these beautiful plants. I can't wait to see them grow over the next few months"

Along the back of our Leeds unit there is a section of green space for the bulbs to be planted. This area is maintained all year round but now is the best time to start planting certain plants in order for them to grow over the coming colder months.

Most industrial estates that are very similar are fully covered with tarmac and paving with very little green space, which is why we need to take full advantage of what we have.

It's not just the amount of green space that matters, it's important that we make the most of the green space and bring out its full potential. It's about quality as much as quantity.

All-together, Lindab planted 1000 bulbs of 4 different types: Eranthis, Anemone, Reticulata and Fraililaria.

Across the estate, 4000 bulbs were planted which will make a huge difference and contribute to a greener planet.
