The First LIBRIUM World
Championships...
Three teams qualified for the first LIBRIUM Games World
Championships held on Monday 26th August 2013 at The Sun Real Ale Festival in
Stafford.
Team briefings explained how the competition was going to proceed after which a short ‘limber-up’ session gave competitors time to try their hand at each of the 10+ possible card placements!
The competition proper started at 2:15pm with each game comprising of 4 players. Over the competition, each player had 3 opportunities to gain maximum points.
The Sun came out Team Champions with team
player Mike Crumpton gaining the most points and rightfully claiming the Title
of Overall World Champion.
Mike won 2 out of
his 3 games along with a second place giving him an individual score of 11
points, closely followed by team mate Richard Harper with 9
points.
Carl Howe from runners up, the Royal Exchange team, also gained a credible 9 points!
Bringing up the rear was the 'Save Stafford Hospital' 4 person team who managed to scramble an average of only 6 points!
A big 'THANK YOU' to all those that supported
the event and competed, it was very much appreciated!
At least
£40.00 was raised for the Katherine House Hospice of
Stafford.
