Krusell launches the world’s first Bioserie mobile covers – Made of plants

Krusell are proud to present Bioserie, the world’s first smartphone covers made with fully biobased and industrially compostable bioplastic materials. Krusell’s Bioserie is also the first mobile accessory in the world to achieve the USDA Certification.

The purpose of USDA BioPreferred program is to increase the purchase and use of biobased products. The United States Department of Agriculture manages the program. All biobased amount claims are verified by independent labs and monitored by the USDA. Products that meet the USDA BioPreferred program requirements carry a distinctive label for easier identification by the consumer.   

The covers are made of plants letting you protect your device in style and with a clean environmental conscience. Krusell offers three different designs: BioCover, GlassCover and AluCover for iPhone 4/4S, iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy SIII.

BioCovers feature unprecedented performance and durability due to exclusive use of a new generation high-temperature resistant, fully biobased Ingeo™ PLA biopolymer.

The printed GlassCovers are made from 100% strengthened glass, (similar to strengthened glass used in smartphone screens) and bioplastics which are derived from annually renewable plant resources.

AluCover is Biobased industrially compostable bioplastic materials and aluminum. It provides a luxurious feel and exceptional strength with recycling option. The covers protect your device with style and leaving you with a clean environmental conscience.

USDA Certified
Bioserie has earned the USDA Certified Biobased Product Label for its Bioplastic Samsung Galaxy S3 Cover and Bioplastic iPhone 4/4S Cover. The USDA Certified Biobased Product Label verifies that the product's amount of renewable biobased ingredients meets or exceeds prescribed USDA standards. Bioserie has achieved 100% biobased ratio for both products, a significant and rare achievement. Biobased products are goods composed in whole or in significant part of agricultural, forestry, or marine materials. All biobased amount claims are verified by independent labs and monitored by the USDA.
