Appeal for witnesses following serious collision in Southampton

We are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision in Southampton this morning (Aug 31).

Officers were called at 7am to reports of a collision involving a motorcycle and a Ford Transit van on Howard Road.

The motorcyclist, a 35-year-old man from Fair Oak, has suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to Southampton General Hospital.

The driver of the van, a 49-year-old man, was uninjured.

Investigations into the exact circumstances of the collision are ongoing and officers would like to speak to anyone who saw what happened, or who may have seen either vehicle prior to the incident.

The collision happened by the forecourt to Addenro House Hotel.

Officers would also like to hear from anyone who was driving in the area and has a dash cam, as they may have captured something that could help.
