Thameslink and Great Northern passengers are being urged to plan ahead as no trains will travel to and from London King’s Cross over a weekend in May for East Coast Main Line transformation work.
Network Rail and train operators in the south east are urging passengers to plan ahead over the Easter period as a major programme of railway upgrades in south London, Kent and Sussex are delivered.
Buses will be running in place of Southern trains between Havant and Southampton Central for one week during the Easter break

Vital maintenance work taking place on the railway between East Croydon and London Victoria this weekend means there will be changes to train services and extended journey times.
From Saturday 15 to Friday 21 February 2025, parts of the railway between Portsmouth and Havant and Fareham will be closed and rail replacement buses will be in operation, while Network Rail completes critical engineering upgrades to the railway.
Passengers are warned that buses will replace trains on sections of the Bedford to London route during weekend work which will see major strides made in a project delivering better journeys on the Midland Main Line

Buses replace trains in the Portsmouth area over February half term for vital engineering work
There will be no Thameslink or Great Northern services between London and Peterborough, Royston and Stevenage via Hertford North at the weekend on 25-26 January and 1-2 February
Vital engineering work is taking place this Sunday between Gatwick Airport and East Croydon, meaning that there will be no trains between East Croydon and Gatwick Airport.
There will be no Thameslink trains between Harpenden and London from Saturday 21 December to Sunday 29 December. This includes several working days.
There will be no trains between Royston and Cambridge North or Cambridge from 27 December to 5 January.
