Statement on incident at King's Cross

At 12.18 today, the 10.55 Cambridge to London King’s Cross Great Northern service hit the buffer stops as it pulled into platform 11 at King’s Cross.

Five people required attention on the scene by paramedics for minor injuries. Two were taken to hospital as a precaution. The Rail Accident Investigation Branch has been notified.

Great Northern’s Passenger Service Director Keith Jipps said:

“We worked with paramedics to help those who were injured and apologise to those affected by the incident. We will cooperate fully with any investigation.”

Two other Great Northern rail services were cancelled as a result and two more will run with fewer carriages than normal this evening.
