Rail passengers with Thameslink and Great Northern can now receive their compensation for delays and disruption in cash.

‘Delay Repay’ compensation is given in the form of National Rail vouchers to the value set out below:

Now, any Delay Repay voucher issued from 19 July, can be exchanged for cash at a Thameslink or Great Northern station ticket office. The change is spelled out in accompanying letters which passengers are asked to take with them to distinguish them from rail vouchers issued for other reasons.

Govia Thameslink Railway Commercial Director David Innis said:

“We are committed to improving service reliability on our routes but when something does go wrong we want to see passengers properly compensated.

“Rail vouchers are a great way to compensate passengers, as they can be offset against their next journey, but if passengers want that money in cash they can now do that at one of our stations for vouchers issued from 19 July.
