New posters and maps for Southern

New network maps will soon be launched by Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR) and will be appearing on the website, on stations and on our trains. These have been designed in partnership with transport mapping experts FWT. Included is a map showing the entire GTR route network, which is the most complex passenger network in the country. There are also individual maps for Great Northern, Gatwick Express, Southern and Thameslink.

The new maps incorporate the best features of the former Southern and First Capital Connect route maps, but have been redesigned to be clearer to read and more geographically accurate. The River Thames is shown on the maps to aid orientation and accessibility information has been included for all stations.

Some route colours have been changed to avoid duplication. Each route now also has a number (e.g. GN1, SN3) as well as a description.

The new style maps are already being used on engineering work and Christmas service change publicity. They will replace the previous versions online and at stations across the network shortly.
