Press release -

Brand new book club for commuters launches in July

Commuters on Thameslink and Great Northern will be able to enjoy a new discounted book every month as Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR) launches a book club, Books On The Go.

Passengers log on to a dedicated micrositehttp://www.thameslinkrailway.com/destinations/books-on-the-go for the book club, which will feature a new title every month from the UK’s leading publishing houses. They’ll be able to read about the book, download a sample chapter via a pdf and benefit from great discounts.

Book club members will receive a £2 discount off the RRP at participating WHSmith stores*. Each month exclusive competitions and prizes will be offered to passengers as well as free copies of the selected books to those willing to read and review.

The first book is the captivating debut novel ‘The Book of Lost and Found’ by Lucy Foley and this campaign will be supported by WH Smith Travel. GTR’s overall venture is in partnership with mostra.

David Innis, Commercial Director for GTR said:

"Personally I enjoy to read while commuting, this is also very popular with our passengers and I’m really pleased to be able to partner with mostra to offer them the opportunity to join our new book club. Passengers will be able to read and review a new book every month.

“I hope our passengers will find the books available to be interesting reads and will be encouraged to talk to their fellow commuters about their latest book.”

Passengers will be able to find out more via digital posters at key train stations including St Pancras and King’s Cross, on Thameslink and Great Northern’s website, and on social media.
