Go North East is marking Remembrance Sunday on 10 November by offering free travel on all services for veterans and current members of the armed forces. This initiative honours the sacrifices made by service personnel, particularly those veterans now serving their communities as part of the Go North East team.

Bus drivers from Go North East embraced the Halloween spirit with a visit to one of the region’s most haunted castles, Lumley Castle near Chester-le-Street, County Durham.
Go North East has announced major improvements to the Tyne Valley Ten and Angel 21 bus services, beginning 1 September 2024. These changes, made possible through the region's Bus Service Improvement Plan, will offer more frequent buses and increased capacity on these popular routes.
The bus will be trialled on the service for one week from Monday 28 February, serving Brandon, Durham, Arnison Centre, Chester-le-Street, Birtley, Low Fell, Gateshead and Newcastle.
Go North East has launched a new blanket fare offer for those travelling around Gateshead with a headline maximum single fare of just £1.70 for any journey, and other offers across the region, as part of its summer savings fares campaign.
It also hopes to extend them longer term if the take up is good enough and more people get on board the region’s buses.

This National Apprenticeship Week (3-7 February 2020), award-winning bus company Go North East is celebrating its engineering apprentices that help keep the wheels moving on its 700-strong fleet of buses.
From 26 January, the X-lines X21 service will be improved to run every 15 minutes between Durham, Chester-le-Street and Newcastle.
