All Aboard With The Archers on a Fred. Olsen Mediterranean Cruise!

Fans of The Archers will get a treat in 2011, when Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines hosts two Archers-themed cruises, as part of its popular programme of special-interest cruises, The ArtsClub. Archers aficionados will get the chance to mingle with their favourite cast members from the long-running show, whilst cruising in luxury around the beautiful Mediterranean.
Various Archers cast members will be on board both cruises. They will be available to chat to at the Captain’s Welcome Cocktail Party, and will perform a 'mock' recording whilst on board - complete with all the rural sound effects you have come to associate with this much-loved show!

Balmoral departs from Southampton on a 10-night Easter cruise, L1102, on 23rd April 2011, calling at La Coruna, Casablanca, Gibraltar, Portimao (where she anchors), before returning to Southampton. Prices for this cruise start at £1,014, based on two adults sharing an inside twin-bedded cabin. The price includes all meals and entertainment on board, and port taxes.

The Balmoral cruise also offers the supporting ArtsClub theme of ‘Wine’, where guests can learn more about wines from around the world, and discover the onboard expert’s recommendations.

Black Watch departs from Dover on 12th September 2011 for a 13-night cruise, W1115, around the Western Mediterranean, taking in Cadiz, Almeria, Ibiza, Mahon, Palma, and Lisbon, before returning to Dover. Prices for this cruise start at £1,392, based on two adults sharing an inside twin-bedded cabin. The price includes all meals and entertainment on board, and port taxes.

The Black Watch cruise also offers keen golfers a dedicated package, Flagship Golf, providing the ideal opportunity to play on some of the finest, most challenging courses on earth, whilst relaxing in the comfort of a Fred. Olsen cruise.  The cost for this package is £375 per golfer.

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines

At Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines we are very proud of our smaller ships – Bolette, Borealis and Balmoral - and the imaginative and unusual itineraries they allow us to offer. Every cruise is hand-crafted from scratch by our team of in-house Journey Planners to make sure you are not only visiting the best destinations, but at the best time to experience them.

For us, it’s not just about where we go but how we take you there. We put as much time into planning scenic cruising as we do in choosing the destinations themselves. On board, our Signature Experiences showcase the history, culture, nature and flavours of the destinations you’ll visit – from Treats of the Region, where you can enjoy local delicacies, to our Sky at Sea star-gazing sessions where you can relax with a hot toddy out on deck while our astronomer talks you through the night sky.

Plus, with each ship carrying 1,300 guests or less, our ships are small enough for us to offer a warm, friendly and personal service where nothing is ever too much trouble, as we visit a host of exciting ports in every corner of the globe.
