Press release -

England Women Name Vitality IT20 Squad

England have named a squad of 14 for the opening match of the Vitality IT20 Tri-series, with two additions to join and take the group up to 16 for the double-header on Saturday June 24.

The 14-strong group for the first game - against South Africa at Taunton on Wednesday June 20 - is the same as the squad named for the Royal London ODI series, with Tash Farrant replacing Lauren Winfield.

Winfield will bolster the group for the second and third IT20 - both to be played on June 24 - as will Hampshire's Katie George.

Heather Knight (captain, Berkshire)

Tammy Beaumont (Kent)

Katherine Brunt (Yorkshire)

Sophie Ecclestone (Lancashire)

Georgia Elwiss (Sussex)

Tash Farrant (Kent)

Jenny Gunn (Warwickshire)

Danielle Hazell (Yorkshire)

Amy Jones (wicketkeeper, Warwickshire)

Laura Marsh (Kent)

Anya Shrubsole (Somerset)

Nat Sciver (Surrey)

Sarah Taylor (wicketkeeper, Sussex)

Danni Wyatt (Sussex)

To join the squad for the IT20 double-header on June 24:

Katie George (Hampshire)

Lauren Winfield (Yorkshire)

Coach Mark Robinson said: "In selecting this squad, we've had the opportunity to consider our England Women's Senior Academy fixtures against South Africa and New Zealand and it's heartening to see so much competition for places.

"We saw some excellent individual performances in those games - Sophia Dunkley hit 91 against New Zealand, Emma Lamb and Freya Davies have bowled well and Bryony Smith made an outstanding 92 yesterday against South Africa.

"There’s a growing number of players beginning to make cases for selection which is a reflection of the depth that’s starting to emerge and that’s exciting."
