ECB Test Match and White Ball Match Charity Partnerships announced

The ECB will team up with three charities to support their fundraising as official Match Charity Partners for the next two years.

Through the partnerships, each charity will take centre stage on one matchday during the summer to raise awareness of their vital work and support their fundraising efforts.

The three charities are:

The Ruth Strauss Foundation – Test Match Charity Partner

The Ruth Strauss Foundation, founded in memory of Ruth Strauss, wife of former England cricket captain Sir Andrew Strauss, is the only UK-wide charity supporting families where a parent is living with an incurable cancer. It provides professional guidance to help parents maintain open communication with their children, foster resilience and maintain hope throughout this journey. The Foundation also funds vital research into non-smoking lung cancers to improve diagnosis, treatment and care. As the ECB’s Test Match Partner for 2025, Red for Ruth day will return to Lord’s on Friday, July 11, during the Men’s Rothesay Test Match between England and India.

The Bob Willis Fund – Men's White Ball Charity Partner

The Bob Willis Fund, created in memory of legendary cricketer Bob Willis, is dedicated to raising funds for research into prostate cancer. The fund supports innovative research projects and aims to improve the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer. As the ECB's Men's White Ball Partner for 2025, Blue For Bob Day will again take place at Edgbaston on Thursday, May 29, during the Men’s Metro Bank One-Day International between England and West Indies.

The Eve Appeal – Women's White Ball Charity Partner

The Eve Appeal is the UK's leading national charity funding research and raising awareness into the five gynaecological cancers – womb, ovarian, cervical, vulval, and vaginal. The charity's mission is to save lives by funding groundbreaking research and providing crucial information to women and healthcare professionals to help prevent and earlier detect gynaecological cancers. As the ECB's Women's White Ball Partner for 2025, The Eve Appeal will be highlighted during the Women’s Vitality IT20 at the Kia Oval on Friday, July 4, between England and India.

The partnerships reflect the ECB's ongoing commitment to leveraging the power of cricket to make a positive impact on society. A selection process was carried out to choose the three successful causes out of a number of charities which applied to the ECB to become a match charity partner.

Richard Thompson, ECB Chair, said: “The Ruth Strauss Foundation, The Bob Willis Fund, and The Eve Appeal are all doing incredible work in their respective fields, and we’re proud to support them.

“Cricket fans have been extremely generous in previous years and really got into the spirit of Red for Ruth and Blue for Bob, and I hope these days will be a huge success again this year. We’re also excited to be working with The Eve Appeal for the first time to support its lifesaving research and education.

“Through these partnerships, we aim to raise significant funds and awareness for these important causes. Cricket has the power to bring people together, and we are committed to using our platform to make a meaningful difference."

Athena Lamnisos, CEO of The Eve Appeal, said: “We are delighted to be one of the chosen charities of ECB for the next two years. We look forward to working with them on our shared ambition of improving the health of more women and girls. Together, we can raise awareness of the five gynaecological cancers and their signs and symptoms, and help fund life-saving research. Through this partnership we will be able to share our vital gynae health information with a whole new audience, and help save lives.”

Lauren Clark, Bob Willis’s wife and co-founder of The Bob Willis Fund, said: “We are hugely grateful to the ECB for their continued support. The cricketing family has been incredible in helping us raise awareness of prostate cancer and fund crucial research. This unique partnership with the ECB, Sky and Edgbaston saves lives. Men have been diagnosed earlier thanks to Bob, and his legacy now lives on in others. Blue For Bob Day at Edgbaston has become a powerful and emotional occasion.”

Ines Thiru, CEO of the Ruth Strauss Foundation, said: "We're incredibly grateful for the cricket community's continued support and delighted to be returning to the Home of Cricket for #RedforRuth. The partnerships with the ECB, Sky Sports Cricket and MCC have helped us to support hundreds of families through the emotional challenges of a parent's incurable cancer. We're excited to see Lord's and the sporting community turning red in solidarity once again, as this ever-growing support continues to bring hope to families facing one of life's toughest tests.”

The three match partnerships are in addition to the ECB’s official charity partnerships with ACE, Chance to Shine, Lord’s Taverners, MCC Foundation and SACA.
