Glitched sets eyes on breaking new LAN records at Elmia

Today we are launching Glitched – a brand new gaming festival with a focus on developing and pushing the boundaries of the LAN experience of the future. The first event takes place at Elmia in Jönköping, Sweden, 13-16 June 2025.

Glitched is a new festival experience with a focus on the well-known LAN concept and at the same place and date where gaming festivals have been organized since 2002. Glitched is founded by the entrepreneurs and enthusiasts Martin Öjes, Christoffer Melin and Tomas Lyckedal with many years of experience in organizing festivals at Elmia.

"Our goal is to fill the LAN again"

Glitched’s long-term vision is to establish an annual recurring festival consisting of LAN, Expo, Esport and several inspiring side activities that both educate and entertain participants in everything around gaming:

– Glitched invites everyone who wants to join and set new records at Elmia again. We want to gather visitors, crew, Elmia and partners to jointly challenge what a LAN can be in 2025. It’s time to fill Hall D and bring back the LAN again, says Martin Öjes, spokesperson for Glitched.

A long-term plan

Glitched continues to build on a strong tradition in Jönköping and in the new collaboration with Elmia, Glitched recreates a viable festival that continues to attract thousands of people to the region every year.

– We are very proud that Elmia once again welcomes gamers and gaming enthusiasts back to its meeting place, in Sweden and in the world. However, this is not just about history and tradition, but above all about building an event that is attractive in the future. Together with Glitched, we are developing something that is fully in line with Jönköping as City of Gaming, says Agne Bengtsson, CEO of Elmia AB.

Focus on developing the LAN experience

Elmia has the perfect conditions for social events, great LAN infrastructure and many legendary gaming moments have taken place here, including the first world championships in League of Legends and CS:GO. Glitched is a broad gaming festival, for both children, young people and adults - but initially the focus will be on further developing the LAN experience.

– An incredible amount has happened in esports and gaming in recent years. Unfortunately, the LAN concept has stagnated and an ordinary gamer often has a cooler gaming room at home than the one encountered in Hall D. We want to change that now and hope that many take the chance to be part of the first historic event, continues Martin Öjes, spokesperson for Glitched.

During the autumn, several news, collaboration partners and content will be presented, together with the planned ticket release. Glitched will also invite visitors to help shape the festival from the very beginning.

– It's time to bring back the fun and the unexpected. In connection with the ticket release, the participants will be able to participate and influence what happens at the festival. We also invite associations, gaming communities and partners to be part of the first historic event, concludes Öjes.
