Small business free advice day at The Barn
The team at elephant communications is running another free advice day for small business start-ups this Friday at The Barn.
The fully-booked day forms part of elephant's community investment programme, an intention by the firm to give something back to the community where it is based.
To date, more than 50 local small businesses have attended one of elephant's free advice days, where team members give free advice and tips on a range of topics, such as social media, website design, media relations, event management and customer insight.
In addition, elephant communications this month has become one of the business sponsors for the EGBA's first annual lecture for local small businesses, which will feature a keynote address by the CEO of White Stuff.
The team is also helping local start up businesses to establish themselves by conducting weekly interviews among local business owners for the Monday business show local radio station 107 Meridian.
As a business, elephant communications works with major brands, but its commitment to put a day aside every month to give free time to small business start ups has been a founding principle of the business. Economic recovery depends on big and small businesses growing side by side and elephant's business research suggests many small business start-ups lack knowledge or confidence when it comes to marketing and communications activities. The free advice days aim to do something to help offer remedial solutions to local small businesses.
