EC Harris Celebrates Completion of Goodman Interlink Warehouse Development in Hong Kong

EC Harris, the international Built Asset Consultancy, has successfully helped Goodman to achieve topping-out for the HK$4 billion Goodman Interlink warehouse development in Tsing Yi, Hong Kong.

The 2.4m sq ft development is the one of the largest industrial development projects currently being undertaken anywhere in the world and is the first major new Hong Kong warehouse project in nearly a decade. EC Harris helped the client to achieve the significant milestone of topping-out for the project in time and the warehouses will be ready for tenants including DHL Supply Chain and Yusen to occupy in early 2012.

EC Harris acted as the project managers for Goodman throughout the whole project, from its foundation in late 2009 through the construction phase and later tenant occupation.  The firm has also provided a wide range of integrated technical services including full time site monitoring, risk management, programme analysis and contract advice.

Commenting on the work, Paul Scott from EC Harris said: “We are very proud to see the Interlink development completed.  It has been a great project, and our team has worked hard with Goodman and the rest of the project team to ensure that it has been delivered ahead of time and on budget.  Now that it is complete, I am sure that it will help meet the market demand for high quality warehouse space in the right location in Hong Kong.”

Philip Pearce, Goodman's Managing Director in Greater China commented, "Interlink is a flagship development in Goodman's Asian portfolio and complements our ongoing strategic expansion in Greater China and continued commitment to the region.”

Interlink is a landmark warehouse and distribution development in Hong Kong. Located at Tsing Yi in the heart of the ports district, the 222,000 sqm (2.4 million sq ft) development over 24 levels will be the fourth largest warehouse in Hong Kong.

Interlink has been built in compliance with both the HKBEAM (Hong Kong Building Environments Assessment Method) and LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) environmental assessment methods, and is the first of its type to obtain such accreditations and awards in Hong Kong.
