The Luxurious Faux Furs ready their sweaty brand of swamp-juiced rock 'n' roll with release of 'Like A Real Shadow'

Luxurious Faux Furs are readying their Like A Real Shadow LP for release on January 22nd via the Brazilian garage rock label Mandinga Records. The duo, comprised of drummer/vocalist Jessica-Melain and guitarist/vocalist Josh Lee Hooker, formed in New York City back in 2011, but the pair now resides in New Orleans. The location seems to be the perfect environs for their sweaty brand of swamp-juiced Blues.

On “Home Cookin,” Josh Lee Hooker’s reeling guitar line wails with intoxicating abandon as Jessica-Melain hammers a hypnotic beat. Hooker’s strychnine howl sets everything ablaze, as the track’s raw production strikes a last nerve while hurting so good. The video for the cut features plenty of fantastic imagery, as the duo stars front and center with their killer style.
