Dirty Water Records USA will be label showcasing a BIG roadshow of triple whammy sonic bliss featuring; LA/Phoenix grrrl gang The Darts (US), Limoges foot pedal stompers Escobar (FR) and Forth Worth's own garage-psych pack Mean Motor Scooter who all hit the road next month promoting newly released LP's.

French duo Escobar return for their third LP, The Biggest Sound, hitting the early 90s grunge sound right on the head Louder Than War  writes: "One of the unfortunate fallouts from the success of the 90s Seattle sound that defined a generation for so many was the propulsion of some truly terrible groups to the top of the charts. Attempting to imitate the sound created during that time for a mainstream stadium rock audience just didn’t work.

For Escobar, it’s as though the clock has been turned back to before the grunge scene floundered under its own success, before it produced wave after wave of contrived careerist copycats, and before the surviving godfathers of the scene soared to the stratosphere. On their third album they have captured the energy and feeling that captivated the world back at the turn of the 90s and have brought it hurtling forward to 2017".

"23 years after the beginning of grunge’s demise, France’s Escobar have produced an album that drags that original sound back up by the scruff of its neck, gives it a good kicking of visceral angst, and sends it back out into the world once again. Listening to The Biggest Sound, it’s almost as if the world stopped turning in 1993, and we’re all a hell of a lot better off for it."

Jacking into an amp, stomping on a Superfuzz pedal and screaming into the night in two-minute blasts can be perfect medicine. For Fort Worth’s Mean Motor Scooter, getting loud and fast changed everything.

Before Mean Motor Scooter, bassist Joe Tacke, singer-guitarist Sammy Kidd and drummer Jeffrey Chase Friedman had a lot more restraint in their lives. Friedman and Kidd were in an acoustic pop group called Endless Sky, and Tacke played in the Dallas indie-pop group Spookeasy, when those groups ran their course, Tacke said he and his bandmates bonded over their love of heavy, blasted-out garage rock.

“We listen to a lot of Ty Segall and Thee Oh Sees and Eagles of Death Metal, Husker Du, those kind of bands, so we have a lot of varying influences,” he said. “But we definitely set out to be a grungier, ’60s-and-’70s garage-rock band."

Over three years as a band, the trio had discussed expanding their lineup at several points, maybe adding a guitar player or even a second drummer. But after the early rounds of recording, Tacke recruited keyboardist Rebekah Elizabeth to fill out the sound.

“Sammy really wanted keys, and I thought of Rebekah,” Tacke said. “Once we heard her organ parts, we realized that maybe we were missing it all along.” "A lot of those things, the harmonies, were her idea,” Tacke said. “She brought a lot to the table.”

The Darts have been running around the world for the last year peddling their blend of dirty psych garage rock to the masses. Returning to the studio, they have certainly taken a step forward from their previous EPs with Me.Ow, their full length proper debut album. All the ingredients of their previous outings are here: driving rhythms, searing guitars, pounding bass lines, gliding Farsifas, and lead singer Nicole’s soaring fuzz-soaked vocals. This is a record is pure desert-session rock ‘n’ roll at its best.

SBD Promotions recently penned: "The Cat’s Meow’ is one way to show you mean business: it prowls from the speakers like the bastard offspring of every trash band of the past 60 years. Low slung throbbing fuzz bass, ear-splitting drum splashes, thick sludgy guitars and vocals pounding out a circular riff straight from the bowels of Hell. That’s before we even get to the horror organ solo which finishes you off right and proper. One can just imagine Screaming Lord Sutch wishing he had such a backing band back in his heyday".

Nicole Laurenne (organ, vocals: formerly of The Love Me Nots, Motobunny, Zero Zero), Rikki Styxx (drums, vocals: The Two Tens, The Dollyrots, Thee Outta Sites), Christina Nunez (bass, vocals: The Love Me Nots, Casual Encounters, The Madcaps) and Michelle Balderrama (guitar, vocals: Brainspoon) have crafted a near-perfect selection of psych-garage fuzz. The world is their whisky bottle. Who knows where it will take them next, but we’ll be along for the ride.

"An outspoken, quick-witted, full-female powerhouse. A high-voltage rock and roll turbine. The hottest gang in town. The most exciting band of 2017. Me.Ow. is a smashing cocktail of the nastiest vibes of 60s garage rock, injected with a turbulent dose of Riot grrrl fury, spiced with a solid portion of The Cramps madness and heated with sweaty Black Rebel Motorcycle Club licks & hooks." - 50third and Third
