"The Walls Still Hold a Tune" Charity Fundraiser for Amnesty International is going to be held on the 21st of March at the Fox and Newt in Leeds. It will be evening of fine rock music from Paul Miro, supported by Polly Phluid (Idol Dead) and Ultraxine, and includes "The Raffle of Rock", with prizes including signed rock memorabilia from The Dowling Poole, The Eureka Machines and many more.
On 1 December The Dowling Poole will release ‘A Kiss On The Ocean’, the second single from their acclaimed album ‘Bleak Strategies’. The single is accompanied with three tracks not on the album, including the brand new song 'Fuck You Goodbye' and a live acoustic version of ‘Hey Stranger’, a song written as a celebration of the life of Tim Smith, Jon's friend and former band partner in Cardiacs.
Following the critical acclaim heaped upon their new album 'Bleak Strategies' The Dowling Poole are delighted to announce a five date UK tour in September 2014. Tickets are on sale now. The Dowling Poole is the band formed by singer-songwriters and multi-instrumentalists Willie Dowling (ex Honeycrack/Jackdaw4) and Jon Poole (ex Cardiacs). On the tour they'll be joined by vocalist Givvi Flynn.
On June 6th Jackdaw4 will be celebrating the death of the band and perversely, the official commercial release day for their majestic new album ‘Dissecticide’, at London’s Borderline.
Worcester based vocalist Givvi Flynn is releasing her debut album through fan-funding website, PledgeMusic.com. The album is currently being recorded in Worcester with Givvi's long-standing music partners, multi instrumentalists and producers Jay Clark and Eli Cameron, from the band threads. The album also features an exclusive song written by Ginger Wildheart.
