Tour of Britain to race through Ramsbottom on Sunday

The 2023 Tour of Britain is returning to Ramsbottom and parts of Greater Manchester on Sunday 3 September when the area will host Stage 1 of the UK’s biggest and most prestigious professional cycle race.

Tour of Britain coming back to Bury

The UK’s biggest professional cycle race, the 2023 Tour of Britain, will be returning to Bury on Sunday 3 September.

Two more bike libraries open in Bury

Two more bike libraries have opened in Bury, allowing adults and children alike to borrow a bike for free, at Clarence Park and Openshaw Park.

Britain's biggest professional cycle race returns to the borough of Bury for the first time in 15 years on Saturday 14 September, as all 10 Greater Manchester boroughs feature in Stage 8, the final phase of the OVO Energy Tour of Britain cycle race.

Bury Council consists of six towns, Bury, Ramsbottom, Tottington, Radcliffe, Whitefield and Prestwich. Formed in April 1974 as a result of Local Government re-organisation it was one of the ten original districts that formed the County of Greater Manchester. The Borough has an area of 9,919 hectares (24,511 acres) and serves a population of 187,500.
