The athletics track and high jump track surface at Market Street in Bury are being replaced.
Bury Council has set aside £250,000 to refurbish and improve the athletics track and facilities at Market Street, Bury.
Charities were handed a big boost as around 1,500 runners crossed the finish line of the Asda Foundation Bury 10K.
More people are being given the chance to get active thanks to new facilities at Bury athletics track.
Runners are set to hit the streets of Bury on Sunday 17 September for one of the region’s biggest charity road races.
Bury Council consists of six towns, Bury, Ramsbottom, Tottington, Radcliffe, Whitefield and Prestwich. Formed in April 1974 as a result of Local Government re-organisation it was one of the ten original districts that formed the County of Greater Manchester. The Borough has an area of 9,919 hectares (24,511 acres) and serves a population of 187,500.
