iC Plus trailer running gears from BPW pave the way for AI-supported maintenance management

From digital DNA to the thinking trailer: how BPW is revolutionising vehicle and fleet management

With its holistic approach to digitalisation, BPW has fundamentally changed the way trailer running gears are developed, built and maintained. Now the innovation leader is advancing the digital DNA of its running gears to artificial consciousness: the trailer of the future thinks and manages itself. BPW reveals the first details of the new generation iC Plus running gear at transport logistic.

With running gears, vehicle components and innovative services from the BPW Group, trailers drive more efficiently, safely and sustainably.

transport logistic: BPW Group shows broad portfolio for more efficiency, safety and sustainability in transport

At the international trade fair for logistics and mobility "transport logistic" in Munich (9 - 12 May), the BPW Group will be focusing its trade fair presentation in Hall A6, Stand 310 on efficiency, safety and sustainability. Under the motto "Solutions for driving value in transport", the group of companies is providing answers to the most urgent questions in the transport industry.

The AirSave tyre pressure control system is so robustly designed that it functions reliably even under extreme operating conditions in off-road operation, e.g. on construction sites.

How special vehicles drive safer and more economically – with the proper tyre pressure

Tyre pressure has a major impact on the transport safety as well as the fuel consumption of the trailer. The increasing popularity of automatic tyre pressure control systems is no surprise, as they quickly pay for themselves and meet new EU regulations. BPW also offers its award-winning AirSave system for low loader trailers and special vehicles with special axle and running gear designs.

Trailers for special transport are among the crowd pullers at bauma in Munich. The common denominator: they roll on axles and running gear solutions from BPW.

BAUMA 22: Market leader BPW wants to continue growth with running gears for special vehicles

Ever larger, heavier loads are being transported by road: trailers that move 80-metre-long wind turbine blades, entire drilling rigs or concrete bridge sections weighing up to 1,000 tons attract all kinds of people to bauma in Munich, not just experts. And the common denominator on the most impressive vehicles? The BPW logo on the hub cap. The market leader expects a sustained trend of growth.

For its electrohydraulic auxiliary steering system Active Reverse Control, BPW is introducing an app that provides quick access to all relevant information via a Bluetooth interface to the system's control unit.

System configuration by smartphone: BPW ARC App for electrohydraulic auxiliary steering system Active Reverse Control

BPW's electrohydraulic auxiliary steering system Active Reverse Control (ARC) for Self-steering axles has already made it easier to reverse with truck drawbar trailers and semitrailers in tight manoeuvring spaces. Now BPW is also making initial commissioning, function checks and diagnostics of this systems easier with the BPW ARC App, available to download for free for Android and IOS devices.

European Commission makes tyre pressure monitoring for trailers compulsory from mid 2022

There are many good reasons to opt for a tyre pressure control system like AirSave from BPW: it saves tyres, fuel and nerves – and already pays off within its first year. Now there’s another good reason to order all your trailer running gears with a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) or AirSave from BPW: the European Commission is making tyre pressure monitoring compulsory from mid 2022.
