Axes Swinging and Thirsty for Blood: Bloodspike Extends the Ranks of Heroes in Orcs Must Die! Unchained

Update 1.2 introduces new close-combat battler, simplifies crafting system and reworks 'Survival' mode

Karlsruhe, 1/6/2016 – In the latest update to Orcs Must Die! Unchained, publisher Gameforge and developers Robot Entertainment are sending brutal smasher Bloodspike on the hunt for the prettiest orc scalps. In doing so, he pays no heed to whether the scalp belongs to friend or foe: his passive, Thirst for Blood, has Bloodspike's abilities doing damage to friendly minions in his surroundings. These then leave a Delicious Meal in their place after passing, which Bloodspike can then eat to regenerate his health. His secondary ability is also aptly named: Bloodbath gives Bloodspike a buff that increases his damage by 8% for every minion hit, no matter if friend or foe.

Numerous changes to meta gameplay

The Orcs Must Die! Unchained open beta is now in full swing and the developers are making good use of player feedback for further refinement. Amongst other things, the amount of crafting materials has been reduced and the way that the recipes work for various items has also been simplified. When hunting for the highly-prized resources, players can now do so in a much more targeted manner: prior to every game round, they now get to decide which crafting material will be awarded to them upon completion.

Moreover, the power balances in Survival have been adjusted and now the damage output for groups of smaller than five players has been significantly increased.

A detailed list of all changes can be viewed, as always, in the patch notes:http://board.omd.gameforge.com/index.php/Thread/5431-Patch-1-2-Bloodspike-Unchained/
