Allison Transmission extends partnership with Daimler Trucks North America to provide customers exceptional value
INDIANAPOLIS, IN- Allison Transmission, Inc. (Allison) announced it has extended its partnership with Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) through a multi-year, long-term agreement. Allison transmissions will be the exclusive automatic transmission installed in all DTNA product lines, including: Freightliner, Western Star, Freightliner Customer Chassis and Thomas Built Buses, and will work in conjunction with engines from DTNA’s sister company, Detroit Diesel Corporation. The formal partnership provides superior engine/transmission integration in areas such as fuel efficiency and future product offerings.
“This partnership will allow Daimler Trucks North America to take advantage of the full complement of Allison’s productivity, efficiency and performance benefits developed during years of experience in medium and heavy-duty vocational markets,” said Jim Wanaselja, vice president of North American Marketing, Sales and Service for Allison Transmission. “This agreement defines our close working relationship with DTNA and blends technology and value, benefiting both companies.”
According to Mark Lampert, senior vice president, Sales and Marketing for Daimler Trucks North America, “Allison Automatics are the benchmark in the medium and heavy-duty truck industry.
