The first stretch hood film based on 100 % bio-allocated feedstock

Trioplast’s vision is to reach zero carbon footprint, and with a growing sustainable portfolio of products the company is taking big steps towards that. And by simultaneously having close collaboration with raw material suppliers and customers the path to the goal will become even shorter.

In the development of the first stretch hood film based on 100 % bio-allocated feedstock Trioplast has teamed up with Total to supply the bio-allocated raw material. The true innovation lies in the fact that the performance and attributes are in no way different from the one made of fossil-based materials.

“It is safe to say that the Triogreen Super Stretch meets the same requirements as the fossil-based in terms of haptic, performance and properties”, states Jan Teglgaard, Product Manager for Stretch Hood & FFS films at Trioplast. “This is exciting for both Trioplast and our customers so we can contribute to a cleaner environment without compromising on performance or quality”.

Innovators in sustainability
In September 2019 the Trioplast production plant in Nyborg, Denmark, was certified according to the international ISCC (International Sustainability & Carbon Certification) PLUS standards. This certification confirms that Trioplast is contributing to responsible sourcing of bio-allocated feedstock, instead of relying on fossil-based sources.

“This brings us a leap closer to being one of the innovators in our industry in terms of sustainability”, says Laila Dallal, Sustainability Manager at Trioplast. “With this product in our portfolio, we have enhanced our range of products that have a low impact on the environment, leaving a choice to the customers depending on their preferences”.

A continuously growing sustainable portfolio
Trioplast sustainable portfolio of today consists of three product brands, each representing a different sustainable technology. Trioloop products are based on recycled materials, Triolean are products based on downgauged material and Triogreen are products based on bio-based materials.

“For best service we also offer Triogreenway, a high-quality package of Life Cycle Assessment customized to our customer’s needs in order to see the benefits and impacts for environment and economics”, says Laila Dallal.
