Introduction of Special Fees for Limited Express Trains During Peak and Low-demand Periods on Saturday, March 15, 2025 Reserved SL/DL seat fees to be modified and flat-rate system for children to be introduced

On Saturday, March 15, 2025, Tobu Railway (headquartered in Sumida, Tokyo) is introducing a seasonal pricing system for periods where passenger demand differs, including the modification of limited express fees, to provide comfortable transportation services on limited express trains.

The fees for reserved seats on the SL Taiju and DL Taiju steam-locomotive-powered trains will be modified to maintain stable tourism transportation services.

Details are as follows:

1. Start of modified limited express fees and other fees.

2. Details of modification

(1) Peak and low-demand period ticket fees

   Compared to current fees, limited express fees (regular fees) will increase 200 yen during peak periods and be reduced 200 yen (150 yen in some sections) during low-demand periods. However, this will not apply for fees for specified sections1 and special seat fees.2

   For limited express trains on the Isesaki Line, fees for low-demand periods will not be introduced.

1. Specified sections are the sections between Asakusa and Kuki, Asakusa and Minamikurihashi, Shimoimaichi and Tobu Nikko, and Shimoimaichi and Kinugawa Onsen.

2. Special seat fees are the SPACIA X Cockpit Suite Fee, Compartment Fee, Box Seat Fee and Cockpit Lounge Fee and the Kinu and Kegon Compartment Fees.

(3) Launch and sale

   Limited express tickets are available one month before the day of use. However, peak/low season fees and modified reserved SL/DL Taiju seat fees will apply for tickets dated on or after March 15 (Saturday).

The current fees will apply for tickets dated on or before March 14 (Friday).

(4) Other

- When purchasing within train cars or at their entranceways, an additional purchase fee of 200 yen will be charged in addition to the regular fee or the peak or low season fee for both adults and children.

- The fees for the TH Liner and TJ Liner direct limited express trains mutually operated by Tobu and JR will not change.
