Michael Holm is Owner-Manager of the Year 2019 in Denmark
Owner-manager Michael Holm from Systematic A/S took the prize as Owner-Manager of the Year 2019 in Denmark at the national awards ceremony at PwC in Hellerup. The jury highlighted the fact that he has created a global success story with annual revenue in the region of one billion kroner, and that Systematic makes a valuable contribution to society through the software it develops.
Michael Holm made it all the way to the top and has been named Owner-Manager of the Year 2019 in Denmark. It happened only a week after he won the regional version – Owner-Manager of the Year 2019 in East Jutland.
In assessing the award-winners, the jury highlighted Systematic’s impressive growth, its international ambitions and the fact that its software is beneficial for society. Moreover, Michael Holm was praised for being a visionary leader who stays true to his values.
“Michael Holm epitomises an owner-manager who has built up his company from scratch and who has created a big and growing success. He wants growth, but is not prepared to compromise the company’s values in terms of creating societal value with the company’s software solutions, just as employee esprit de corps and cooperation are very high on the agenda,”says Christian Fredensborg Jakobsen, partner and head of Assurance at PwC, adding:
“This year’s Owner-Manager of the Year works hard to make a difference in society, but he is also something of a lodestar within his own industry. Alongside his role as owner-manager at Systematic, he finds the time to promote the development of the IT industry in Denmark and sits on several boards.”
Michael Holm is currently visiting Systematic’s offices in Australia and New Zealand and was therefore unable to attend the awards ceremony in Hellerup in person. However, he participated via a video link and a big screen, while his wife Pernille Salling Holm was there to receive the award on his behalf. Afterwards, Michael Holm said:
“I’m very honoured to receive the award, and it has resulted in a lot of nice things being said and written about me and Systematic. However, I must insist that most of the credit goes to the company’s employees – past and present – who have done their utmost to live up to our high standards for how we develop excellent software on time and within budget. At the moment I’m en route to New Zealand, so there’s nothing I can do except give the customary Danish chocolate-covered marshmallow puffs to everyone on my return.”
