Continued growth in air travel during July
A total of 2,560,000 passengers flew to or from Stockholm Arlanda Airport in July, which is a nine per cent increase compared to the same month last year. About 2,200,000 of these passengers flew to or from international destinations, up ten per cent from 2016, while 360,000 flew to or from domestic destinations, up five per cent.
At Göteborg Landvetter Airport, passenger volume rose eleven per cent, with 680,000 passengers flying to or from the airport in July this year. Of these, 604,000 flew internationally, a twelve per cent increase compared to last year.
Other passenger increases in July were seen at:
Åre Östersund Airport, where passenger volume was up nineteen per cent (to 26,300)
Visby Airport, where passenger volume was up eleven per cent (to 85,700)
Kiruna Airport, where passenger volume was up ten per cent (to 27,000)
So far this year, 24,000,000 passengers have flown to or from Swedavia’s airports, roughly two million more than during the period January-July last year.
