Svea Barone this year’s winner of Formex Design Talents

At Formex, designer Svea Barone has been named “Best in Show” in Design Talents. This is a competition for up-and-coming Swedish and international designers to showcase their products at Formex. This year, 26 talented new designers are exhibiting their work on 22 stands in the Design Talents section of the fair.

Winner Svea Barone works primarily with flowers, and at Formex she will be showing off her lampshades created from petals.

The jury statement on this year’s “Formex Design Talents Best in Show” winner:

"One with nature – form and function with a light touch. The inspiration and template for this artistic expression comes from one of nature’s most beautiful wonders. Whatever stage of life we are at, the flowers around us express our different states of mind. With an eye for color and a fingertip sensitivity to form, the designer creates imaginative everyday designs that deliver joy, mood and light."

Svea grew up in Florence, Italy and Stockholm. She studied fashion and design at the illustrious Polimoda school in Florence. Read more at www.sveabarone.com

Design Talents is one of Formex’s most dynamic and exciting features. Up-and-coming designers from both Sweden and abroad can apply to be part of Design Talents, giving them the opportunity to display their products to buyers, producers and the media.
