Press release -

New digital platform for conversations about design and architecture

In recent years, Stockholm Design & Architecture Talks have established themselves as one of the leading international forums for conversation and debate in the field of Scandinavian design, architecture and urban planning. Over the course of two days, a large number of international and Scandinavian experts will take part in talks, interviews and a range of fascinating panel debates. The event will be held digital on February 10-11 and tickets can be purchased here.

After a 2020 that saw the world turned upside down, it is time to look ahead and consider how everything from design and architecture to urban planning is going to develop over the next few decades. The discussions will examine crucial issues such as sustainability and the environment, alongside the innovations and new materials that are set to open up new opportunities for the future. We have brought together some of the most interesting and informed Scandinavian and international speakers to give talks and take part in panel debates and including an unique digital tour of one of the most spectacular interior design projects in Stockholm, which will be completed in January 2021, Spotify's new head office and R&D studio.

The program is split into five different themes. February 10 features The Future of: Architecture and Scandinavian Design, while February 11 focuses on The Future of: The City, The Office and Retail. The illustrious speakers include American architect Charles Renfro, who designed Zaryadye Park in Moscow and the Museum of Image & Sound in Rio de Janeiro, following on from his acclaimed work on The High Line and the expansion of MoMA in New York. Designer and gallerist Rossana Orlandi, who has long been an inspiration for young designers the world over, will be speaking about contemporary Scandinavian design and what makes it so enduring. The award-winning Dutch architect Fokke Moerel, a partner at MVRDV, is well known for her work on public spaces and cultural institutions and will be sharing her experience of designing in these areas. Dane Anders Lendager, who is renowned for reusing construction waste and recycled materials in his buildings, will be presenting examples and talking about his process. Vo Trong Nghia, vietnamese architect considered one of the most exciting architects today, wellknown for his sustainable green architectural design.
