Monchiqe and Studio Lisa Bengtsson create a unique café at Formex

Lisa Bengtsson, the master of pattern, is bringing her creative expertise to Formex, this time in collaboration with the parasol company Monchiqe. Together, they are creating an inspiring large café area where pattern joy, colors, and a retro feel transport visitors to dreams of the Italian Riviera.

Lisa Bengtsson, renowned for her playful patterns and dynamic designs, is the founder of Studio Lisa Bengtsson. Fearlessly embracing colors and incorporating humorous motifs, she has left an indelible mark on interior products globally. Her career took a significant leap in 2007 when she exhibited for the first time at a precursor to today's Formex Design Talents. This experience played a pivotal role in her growth, enabling her to forge important connections in the industry.

– I created patterns in all my work and eventually designed a wallpaper for my thesis. Shortly thereafter, I exhibited in the Design Talents area, an experience that helped me in my career. Formex has been an integral part of what I have created and how I have developed in my career," says Lisa Bengtsson.

Formex La Café takes us to the Italian Riviera
Lisa Bengtsson, in collaboration with Monchiqe will together crafting Formex Café - a magical space filled with activities and inspiration that captures the essence of the Italian Riviera.

– When Omar and I were approached by Formex to create a café, it felt natural to involve Lisa in the project. We love collaboration and immediately sensed that we could create a vibrant dream world—Lisa with her delightful pattern designs in harmony with our new vintage-inspired parasols. This space is designed for people to come together across age boundaries, around large tables, and perhaps even make new connections, friends, or business contacts, says Minnie Boulala at Monchiqe.

The theme for January's Formex is Generation Love, symbolizing connections between young talents and seasoned industry professionals, the convergence of analog and digital, and the blend of vintage with new trends.

– In these challenging times, both globally and in January, we want to transport visitors to the warmth of summer, the joy of patterns, bustling food markets, and the soothing sounds of the sea along the Italian Riviera. I believe that the infusion of color and pattern joy across generations is precisely what we need," expresses Lisa Bengtsson.

Formex is held at Stockholmsmässan from January 16 to 18 and is the most important meeting place for interior design. Learn more at www.formex.se.
