The Avicii Collection closes at more than 7.7 million SEK

At 15:00 local time on Tuesday, The Avicii Collection – A Charity Auction was called at Stockholms Auktionsverk, in front of a packed auction hall. The auction consisted of 267 items, ranging from sneakers and clothes to musical instruments and other memorabilia related to Tim' Avicii' Bergling's musical career. All items offered for sale in the charity auction were donated by Tim Bergling's family and were sold for the benefit of The Tim Bergling Foundation, which promotes the mental health and well-being of young people.

At 00:25, the total hammer price for the charity auction ended at 7,732,805 SEK– with bids from over 40 countries. Among the most sought-after items was a 2015 Fender Telecaster hammered for 240,000 SEK after intense telephone bidding. The Martin Custom X Series acoustic guitar went even higher and was sold for 280,000 SEK. Other highlights included a pair of Sennheiser headphones (80,000 SEK), a Pink Dolphin Cap (70 000 SEK), a New Era Miami Marlins cap (50 000 SEK), and an original contact sheet with portraits by photographer Mark Seliger (165,000 SEK).

"It feels fantastic to convey this significant amount to The Tim Bergling Foundation. With this auction, we once again confirm that Stockholms Auktionsverk is the given choice when it comes to selling unique collections. We are very pleased to see how The Avicii Collection has also appealed to a younger audience. Many here in the hall have placed their very first auction bids today, and it feels very honorable for us to be a part of that", says Cecilia Gave, CEO of Stockholms Auktionsverk.

As all of the auction's items were sold during Tuesday's auction, it was also possible to establish a prestigious "white glove sale" for The Avicii Collection, a term that in the auction world means that an auction is completed without any callbacks.

“We are very happy with the outcome of yesterday's charity auction, and the funds these items have generated will help us in our continued work for young people's mental health and well-being”, says Stefan Rudels, acting director of The Tim Bergling Foundation.

One of the day's most distant participants was music producer Michael Cohen, also known as 'Tim Loren', who had traveled from Paris to attend the auction in person. Once there, he won the bidding on a Bottega Veneta leather jacket. His commitment to the auction and its cause was very personal.

"Tim inspired me to become an artist and producer myself; he is the reason I wanted to make music. I wasn't lucky enough to see him live, but I still wished to have a memory of him, so I decided to book a ticket and come here. I've had my eye on a couple of different items, but this jacket was my first choice, so I'm very excited to bring it home and assure you that it will be framed and placed in a very nice spot."
