100 classes registered for Sigma's new innovation competition

The decreasing interest in technology among children and young people is a downward trend that needs to be reversed. Sigma has taken note of this and is launching the Experts of Tomorrow Innovation Race. An innovation competition for all middle school students in Sweden, which has already received registrations from over 100 classes.

Interest in technology is dropping drastically among young people and there is a shortage of technical skills and engineers. A deficiency which, if we do nothing about it, will continue to exist in the future. Therefore, Sigma is launching the Experts of Tomorrow Innovation Race. An exciting and challenging competition for all middle school classes throughout Sweden. Because in middle school, children's interest in technology is still very high, only to decrease when starting upper school. Therefore, Experts of Tomorrow Innovation Race wants to pick up that interest and inspire more young people to continue with a technical education.

The interest from middle school teachers and classes has been strong throughout Sweden. Already, the competition has received registrations from over 100 classes, from north to south.

"It's really exciting! But there is still time to register your class, so we hope for even more entries," says Johan Glennmo, Chairman of the Board at Sigma Group.

In this year's Innovation Race, the participating classes will create something that can make their city and everyday life more fun, better, safer and/or easier. It could be a gadget, an app, a road or maybe even a building of some kind.

During the live-streamed final, the jury, led by Magnus Göransson, known from TV4’s LEGO Masters, will present the best and most innovative entry. The competition period starts on September 1, 2024, so go ahead and register your class now!
