Local hawker delights receive a gastronomic upgrade at PARKROYAL on Pickering’s Lime Restaurant in celebration of National Day
Singapore, 2 July 2019 – If you’ve ever fancied a gastronomic upgrade to Singapore’s world-famous local food scene, then you’re in for a treat this August as PARKROYAL on Pickering injects a touch of luxe into the nation’s humble hawker culture with ‘Loco Local’ – an exciting hawker-themed buffet experience.
Available at the hotel’s iconic Lime Restaurant for a limited period from 5 August to 1 September 2019, diners can look forward to a four-hour feast of local culinary favourites prepared by Lime’s acclaimed team. Imagine a taste of familiarity and home, but infused with the finest ingredients and an abundance of crabs, lobsters and oysters on offer– that’s ‘Loco Local’!
Celebrate National Day in true Singaporean fashion by indulging in an upscale interpretation of the nation’s favourite dishes including the Alaskan King Crab Meat Char Kway Teow, Lobster Roti Jala, Hokkien Noodles served with Baby Lobster, and Steamed Oysters paired with your sauce-of-choice (Thai Chili, Mala or Sambal Belachan).
Other local signature dishes include Hainanese Chicken Rice, Fried Carrot Cake, Bak Kut Teh Soup with Pork Rib and Chicken Satay with Peanut Sauce. And it’s never going to be a true Singapore celebration without trying one of nation’s greatest culinary inventions – the Singapore Chili Crab!
End your meal on a sugar high with a selection of local sweets at the dessert station featuring Ice Kacang, Pong Piah, Tau Sar Piah, “Orh Nee” (Yam Paste with Gingko Nuts), and Mini Assorted Nonya Kuehs.
