KONE wins order for luxury residential development in the heart of Kuala Lumpur

KONE, a global leader in the elevator and escalator industry, has won an order to supply 26 elevators to Star Residences, a luxury residential and commercial development in the heart of Malaysia’s capital, Kuala Lumpur.
Star Residences will be one of the tallest mixed-use developments in the Kuala Lumpur City Center (KLCC) district upon its completion in 2019. The development, covering a 1.6 hectare site, comprises of three 58-storey residential towers and a retail, food and beverage, and entertainment hub. Star Residences also boasts three “skyparks” that overlook the iconic Petronas Twin Towers. The development is strategically located with easy connectivity to neighboring locations, including the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center and Bukit Bintang, a major tourist hub.
KONE will deliver eight KONE MonoSpace® elevators and 18 KONE MiniSpace® elevators to Star Residences. The elevators can reach travel speeds of up to 5 m/s and are connected to the KONE E-LinkTM remote monitoring solution that provides real-time information and statistical reports on equipment performance.

Star Residences is developed by Alpine Return Sdn Bhd, a joint-venture company of Symphony Life Berhad and United Malayan Land Berhad.
The order was booked in the first quarter of 2016.
